Troubled Negro, Colquitt Thomas, 20 and a young black thug are accused of firing shots at off-duty Chicago cop's vehicle during attempted carjacking
Colquitt Thomas, 20, is charged with attempted robbery with a firearm. He is being held on $300,000 bail, according to the Cook County Jail's website. A 17-year-old boy is charged with attempted robbery with a firearm and aggravated discharge of a firearm at a police officer.
The officer was not injured in the attack, which happened about 4:45 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of East 89th Street in the city’s West Chesterfield neighborhood, police said.
Two attackers walked up to the off-duty officer and fired shots at the officer’s vehicle before trying to take it, police said.
Officers responded to a call of shots fired, and the two assailants fled east on 89th but were arrested.
A gun was recovered from the scene, police said.
Thomas is scheduled to appear in court again Thursday.
