Unincorporated DuPage County: Woman's murdered body found at west suburban White Pines Golf Course, authorities say - She had a pubic line tattoo that said - PAR 3 for this HOLE
Charlie Dastych, chief deputy coroner in DuPage County, said the body was found by the course entrance at 500 W. Jefferson St. near Bensenville.
The Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart released a statement saying the woman was believed to be the victim of a suspected homicide that occurred in the 11500 block of Grand Avenue in unincorporated Cook County. Several agencies are now involved in the investigation, authorities said.
Officials with the Bensenville Park District, which operates the course, could not be reached for comment.
Joe Sansone, 62, a retired police officer who lives across the street from the golf course entrance on Jefferson, said he saw detectives canvassing the neighborhood around 10:30 a.m.
Sansone said he works weekends at the golf course as a course ranger and that another employee told him that the victim had a large rose tattoo on her chest. He said the employee told him someone cutting the grass found the woman near the 16th green, which is just south of the course entrance.
He said nearly a half-dozen unmarked squad cars had parked in and around his neighborhood. Later Thursday afternoon, Sansone said he saw a marked Chicago police squad car at the scene.
Sansone said the course opens early in the morning, with some golfers starting while it's still dark. Wet weather may have kept some players away Thursday, though he said he saw people playing golf at the course in the later morning.
