Four gang members have been charged with beating a Cicero man to death after one accused him of breaking a bottle on the floor at a party they were all attending, authorities said.
Peter Ocampo, 28, of the 3500 block of South 57th Court in the west suburb, was declared dead outside an apartment building in the 2500 block of South Central Avenue at 5:07 a.m. on Saturday, according to Cicero police.
Erik Noriega, 29, Jose Escobar, 20, Erik Naves, 23 and Juan Galvez, 19, were all ordered held without bail today in a hearing before Cook County Maybrook Court Judge Thomas Tucker, said Cook County state’s attorney’s spokesman Andrew Conklin.
The evening started with Ocampo attending a birthday party for a gang member he knew at the apartment building, prosecutors said. He had been invited, brought a bottle of alcohol and was there for a few hours and was sitting at a kitchen table with Noriega and the three others when Noriega began arguing with Ocampo about his breaking a bottle on the floor, prosecutors said.
